Bentleys finishing department comprises two modern spray booths for wet paint and lacquer finishing with an “oven bake” facility for intensive curing of various materials.  The dedicated 1700 sq ft preparation and drying area highlights the space required for this busy department which is often in use seven days a week.

The highly skilled finishing team utilise a number of applications to cope with the many varied specifications they encounter, including conventional suction and gravity fed spray systems to the very latest air assisted airless techniques required for large volume production.

Over the years we have seen a major transformation in the industry with new materials being developed every year to cope with continued restrictions through environmental and health and safety legislation.  Jim Wallace, our finishing department manager, understands that architects and designers are not only looking for innovative schemes with colours from a wide range of pallets, they often require fire resistant finishes with extreme durability. Mirror Gloss Finish

Bentleys have recently introduced a new range of specialist finishes to their portfolio.  This new application produces a radiant mirror finish shine to surfaces.  The finish is available in a range of AC and Polyurethane finishes exhibiting extreme durability whilst displaying unparalleled gloss levels and conforming to the BS 6250 ‘sever use’ codes of practice. 

Biocidal Wood Finishes

A new and exciting wood finish has become available recently in the form of a wood lacquer that eradicates many of the common strains of bacteria associated with food poisoning.  At present the finishing department are testing several new products which will have huge appeal to the catering and associated industries not only in providing them with a safe environment for their clients but which allow the reduction of some of the harsher cleaning materials required to maintain clean conditions and in turn have a positive effect on the environment.
